Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28’800 VpH), this self-winding caliber delivers a power reserve of 50 hours when fully wound. ![]() It offers the view of the automatic Elite 670 manufacture movement endowed with a star-shaped oscillating weight. Instead of the original’s solid case-back with the four-pointed star engraving, the DEFY Revival A3642 features a sapphire display back. In fact, the only cosmetic differences between the Revival and its ancestor are the sapphire crystal, the display case back and the type of luminescent pigments. ![]() The paddle-shaped seconds hand was a prominent feature in several Zenith watches of the same era. Its sword-shaped hour and minute hands are generously filled with Super-LumiNova in a similar tone to Tritium found in the original. The gradient dial spotlights unusual applied square hour markers with horizontal grooves that convey a sense of perpetual motion. Reproduced in stunningly accurate detail using the original production plans from 1969, the DEFY Revival A3642 brings back all the characteristics and singular design elements of the historic model. With a water-resistance of 30ATM (300 metres) ensured by a screw-down crown, the DEFY A3642 was an all-terrain and all-occasions watch. Its steel “ladder” bracelet was designed and manufactured by the legendary Gay Frères Company. ![]() These emblematic design features have been distilled into the modern Zenith DEFY collection. Its bold, octagonal case paired with a fourteen-sided bezel exhibits audacity and ruggedness through sharply defined lines and facets with different finishes. Nicknamed coffre-fort in French, the original DIFY featured an exceptionally edgy design and robustness that mass-produced quartz watches of the time simply could not rival.
